Overview
Step 1: Generate the UMDF driver code by using the Visual Studio 2019 USB driver template. For instructions about generating UMDF driver code, see Writing a UMDF driver based on a template. For USB-specific code, select the following options in Visual Studio 2019. In the New Project dialog box, in the search box at the top, type USB.
libusb is a C library that provides generic access to USB devices. It is intended to be used by developers to facilitate the production of applications that communicate with USB hardware.

UMDF driver packages that are built by using Windows Driver Kit for Windows 8 can automatically redistribute and install version 1.11 of the files. During driver package installation, the package checks the computer to determine what version of UMDF is currently installed, and then the package updates the files to 1.11 if they are an older version. Before launch the Arduino software, you are going to install the USB drivers. Plug one end of your USB cable into the Arduino and the other into a USB socket on your computer. First, right click “Computer” —select “Properties”— click “Device manager”, you should see an icon for ‘unknown device’ with a little yellow warning.

It is user-mode: No special privilege or elevation is required for the application to communicate with a device.
It is version-agnostic: All versions of the USB protocol, from 1.0 to 3.1 (latest), are supported.

If you are using Linux, chances are your distribution already includes libusb, so you probably just need to reference the libusb header in your source.
For other platforms, or if you want to use the very latest, you are encouraged to recompile from source. Please check the Downloads menu.
If you prefer, you can also access the source directly from github.
Once you have secured your access to the library and its header, please check the libusb API or the libusb samples.
